In the time it takes to read this editorial at least one child will die of malaria. Even though it is curable and preventable, and has been for decades, malaria still kills 600,000 people a year. Most are under four and live in Africa. These children’s chances of a full and healthy life may soon be transformed by the first malaria vaccine to prove it's worth.
